Refrigerators
There are two manufactures of refrigerators, Dometic which was electrolux and Thetford (the toilet makers)
They both work in a similar way. Both can be run on 12v, 240v and gas.
The refrigerator needs a heat source to operate. This can be produced by a 240v element, a 12v element or a gas flame.
This is selected in a number of different ways depending on the age and model of the refrigerator. There can be a 240v switch or, a dial selector with an LED that illuminates when selected.
The refrigerator will run on 12v but will only work when the caravan is connected to a towing vehicle via the 12s or new 13 pin plug and the engine is running.
